Shane Hutton

 Shane Hutton has been recognized by 20 of the most significant advertising award shows from around the globe over 160 times, and his work has appeared in over 35 museums worldwide. He was a contributing author to the book Pick Me: Breaking Into Advertising and Staying There, and has been a regular speaker at Boston University’s College of Communications. Hutton’s work has been parodied by such interesting personalities as Conan O’Brian, David Letterman and feature film director Ron Howard, and has led to the publication of at least one book published by 331/3, which explores how Hutton’s commercial work created the posthumous career of singer/songwriter Nick Drake, when Drake’s “Pink Moon” was used in the Volkswagen commercial “Milky Wave.” Hutton has been recognized by the Art Directors Club of New York four times, the Clio Awards nine times, the Andy Awards six times, the AICP committee nine times and the One Show eight times. Hutton also has a Cannes Grand Prix and an Emmy nomination. Hutton’s work is currently part of a permanent canon in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City called, “The Art and Technique of the American Television Commercial” and as such is part of the museum’s regular film schedule. In 2004, Hutton was given an award from the Department of Justice of the United States of America for his contribution to a public service campaign seeking to stop handgun violence in the United States. He has worked at agencies such as Modernista!, Arnold Worldwide, Roche Lowe and Ogilvy & Mather.
