Patrick Clifford

Patrick Clifford began his career in the record business after graduating from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. His first position was working for music impresario Nat Weiss, who owned and operated Nemperor Records and Nemperor Artists. On the record side, Patrick’s first signing was The Romantics, and his first professional recording was the hit song “What I Like About You.” He was also involved with the first four records by Steve Forbert. Other Nemperor artists included James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam), Peter Asher, John McLaughlin and The Mahavishnu Orchestra. After Nemperor, Patrick was Director of A&R for Epic Records in Los Angeles. He then went on to become Vice President of A&R for A&M Records with headquarters in both New York and Los Angeles. While at A&M, Patrick signed and recorded the first four Blues Traveler albums, and was also involved in recording projects by Sound Garden, Soul Asylum, Del Amitri, Trip Shakespeare among others. Patrick then joined Chrysalis Records as Senior Vice President of A&R. After Chrysalis, Patrick worked for a three-year period as Vice President of A&R for Capitol Records in New York, and in 1996, Patrick moved again to Los Angeles to take a Senior Management position at BMG, specializing in A&R. For the next ten years, Patrick contributed creative and business acumen to artists that were part of the BMG label group. In October 2005, he moved to Ten Ten Music Group where he is Vice President of A&R. Aside from exploiting copyrights for recorded music projects, Patrick concentrates on developing opportunities in film, television programming and advertising. Patrick also manages producers and writers for opportunities that cross many musical genres, as well as artist development.
