Kevin Bassinson
Kevin Bassinson has gained an impressive amount of experience and expertise as a music editor in film and television enhanced by his intimate involvement in every discipline of the music industry. Kevin grew up in St. Louis, Missouri in a house filled with music. Kevin was mentored as a music editor by the late Emmy and Grammy winning music editor John Strauss (Amadeus, Hair, Valmont). As a music editor, Kevin’s work includes both film and television features including Changeling, Gran Torino, Invictus, J Edgar, Flight 93, The Thomas Crown Affair, My Sister’s Keeper, Conviction and more. His roster of series includes Burn Notice, The Good Guys, The West Wing, TheDistrict and Nash Bridges, among others. As an accompaniment to his music editor “cutting” skills, he was a keyboardist, he performed with the likes of Diana Ross, Olivia Newton-John, Tom Scott, Victor Feldman, Bette Midler, Barry Manilow to name a few. His keyboard escapades include five seasons in the Academy Awards Orchestra under the baton of Bill Conti. He had the good fortune to be signed to Motown with the group Dr. Strut. As an arranger, Kevin has worked on American Idol (where he was also Music Director for the first season), All Dogs Go to Heaven II and more. He has arranged the music for many albums and live performances. Kevin has also enjoyed great success arranging and often composing commercials for such giants as Jack in the Box, McDonald’s, NBC, ABC, Coldwell-Banker and American Harvester to name only a few. His original compositions can be found in many feature films and television shows. As a composer for the California Artists Radio Theatre, Kevin has created music for many highly esteemed productions that have most recently aired on Sirius/XM Radio.
