Julie Frost is a singer, songwriter, guitar player and music producer. She has worked with today’s leading artists and has collaborated with some of the industry’s top songwriters and producers. She recently won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for “Masterpiece,” a song that she co-wrote with Jimmy Harry and Madonna to play in the end credits of Madonna’s movie, W.E. and that will be featured on Madonna’s highly anticipated upcoming album. Her song “Satellite” won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010. In 1992, Julie moved to Chicago and attended DePaul University briefly. She started playing at open mic nights to overcome her stage fright. She taught at the famous Old Town School of Folk Music, sold original CDs, and lent her voice and music to major ad campaigns. She was invited twice to be showcased at the Songwriters Hall of Fame and was earned an honorable mention in John Lennon’s Songwriting Contest. In 2009, EMI Music Publishing’s President Jon Platt discovered Frost when he opened an e-mail she had sent containing links to some of the songs she had written, produced and performed independently. She was signed to a publishing contract and immediately started writing and creating with prominent artists in the industry. Julie has co-written songs for Beyoncé, the Black Eyed Peas (“Just Can't Get Enough”), Pitbull (“Castles Made Of Sand”), and a variety of European artists. “Satellite” hit number one on the charts in Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland, topping Billboard’s European Hot 100. Julie is on the leadership committee of “Childless Mother’s Adopt (CMomA)…Embracing Children In Need”, a newly established charity supporting the adoption of children in dire situations.
