Danny Strick

Danny Strick came to Sony/ATV in 2004 in the role of U.S. President.  Upon the arrival of Martin Bandier in 2007, Strick became Co-President U.S. with responsibility for East Coast A&R, as well as the Nashville, U.S. Latin, and Latin American Divisions. Strick has been a key player in the ascension of Sony/ATV as an important major in the worldwide Music Publishing business.  He works closely with Co-President Jody Gerson in Los Angeles. Under his leadership at Sony/ATV prior to 2007, major signings to the Pop and Urban roster included Fall Out Boy, One Republic, Jonas Brothers, Rise Against, Beck, The Game and Rick Ross. Working closely with Chairman Martin Bandier and the New York A&R staff signings included artists such as Pitbull, FloRida, Sara Bareilles, Richie Sambora, and Sean Kingston. With an eye towards building the producer profile for Sony/ATV, major signings for the New York team since 2007 include RedOne, JR Rotem, John Shanks, Boi1da, and Orange Factory. In 2007, Strick revived the Sony/Acuff Rose moniker, Hickory Records. From 2000 to 2004 Strick was a senior A&R executive at Maverick Records where he signed Michelle Branch. From 1996 to 2000 Strick was President of BMG Songs, the U.S. division of BMG Music Publishing. Under his leadership the company experienced strong growth fueled by a number of major signings including Cypress Hill, Wu-Tang Clan, Beck, Erykah Badu, Ace Of Base, among others. He also played a pivotal role in the acquisition of more than 50 catalogues at BMG. Prior to coming to BMG, he spent six years as a songplugger at Jobete Music, CBS Songs and MCA Music Publishing. Strick graduated from Hollywood High School and UCLA with a BA in Psychology. He lives in Westchester County, New York with his wife and two children.
