Versatile composer/musician Mark Isham’s career has traversed from Grammy award-winning performer/songwriter to award-winning composer of scores for film and television. An evocative trumpeter and master of the synthesizer, Isham became a pioneer of electronic music early on in his career; this led the composer/musician, with an intimate understanding of how sound and emotion interact, to garner a reputation as a leading film and TV composer. Isham has written critically acclaimed scores to over 100 films including Warrior, Dolphin Tale, The Black Dahlia, A River Runs Through It (Oscar nominated), Nell (Golden Globe nominated), Fly Away Home, October Sky and Bobby. He scored the Oscar-winning Crash, the celebrated miniseries From the Earth to the Moon, and received an Emmy for his score to EZ Streets. In addition to scoring the hit ABC series Once Upon A Time, he has just completed the films The Lucky One starring Zac Efron and Stolen starring Nicolas Cage. Isham is also creating a series of public sound installations using the spatial elements of music. Noted film music writer Jon Burlingame will interview Mark Isham in this thought-provoking and wide-ranging master session.
